Brexit Party MEP Nigel Farage attacked the Labour Party and their chances of success in the upcoming general election. Mr Farage mocked the senior Labour member by dubbing her a “professor in mathematics” in reference to a previous maths gaffe by Ms Abbott. Mr Farage said: “I think one of the problems the Labour Party has is that it is now run by a group of left-wing, north London intellectuals.

“Nearly all of them come from privilege and have got no connection with ordinary people what so ever.

“I mean they even think that if you dare to believe that we should control our borders, that we should restrict the number of people who come into our country.

“I mean Diane Abbott thinks, oh you haven’t heard of her, no? Well, she was a mathematics professor that came into politics.

“The implication is that somehow you are all nasty, knuckle-dragging, racist, awful people for daring to think it.

“Now on the referendum, the Labour Party campaigned hard for us to Remain, that is not unusual.

“The Lib Dems did the same and the Conservatives did as well, they all campaigned for us all to Remain.

“Indeed, George Osbourne told us that half a million jobs would go if we dared to vote to Leave.

“David Cameron suggested it could even lead to world war 3 if we dared to vote to leave.

“But we did vote to leave and the response despite the fact that the Labour Party during the referendum, after the referendum and in their 2017 manifesto, they said regardless of their personal opinion they would respect the result of the referendum.

“Where are we now with the Labour Party?

“They think that you lot didn’t know what you voted for.”

Jeremy Corbyn has been criticised for insisting he would remain neutral regarding the Brexit issue if he became Prime Minister.

The Labour leader has also consistently accused Prime Minister Boris Johnson of preparing to sell the NHS to the US in favour of a good trade deal.

Boris Johnson has repeatedly denied these claims and insisted that the NHS is not for sale.
