Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage argued that the UK would not be leaving the EU on October 31. While on LBC Mr Farage insisted Boris Johnson was simply setting up his political pieces to use as excuses when he fails to deliver Brexit. He added that the Prime Minister intends to blame the EU and Parliament for his failings and completely shift the blame away from himself.

Mr Farage said: “I have to say Boris Johnson has put forward this week some amendments, some changes to Mrs May’s dreadful set of documents.

“They do make things, if they were to be accepted by Brussels, quite a bit better.

“Still nowhere near where I would want us to be but quite a bit better.

“The thing is I don’t think there is a cat’s chance in hell of Brussels accepting this.

“Which takes us back to Mrs May’s new European treaty that was rejected three times by the House of Commons or leaving with a clean break no-deal Brexit.

“Parliament is not going to vote for that, it is not going to happen.

“This side of a general election there’s no chance of that so if Boris is forced to extend, which I think he’s going to be, there’s no way were can leave on the 31st of October folks.

“I don’t think we’re leaving on the 31st of October.

“My view is the government are saying this and Boris is saying this so that when we wake up on the 1st of November he can say it wasn’t my fault guys.

“He can say those dreadful people in Brussels wouldn’t compromise and Parliament’s against me, it is not my fault.

“That is what I think is going on here.”

If Boris fails to deliver Brexit on time in a general election after October 31 the Brexit Party would likely receive many Tory voters.

This would then allow Mr Farage to have MPs in Parliament and better steer the Brexit debate and future from within the House of Commons.
