Brexiteer and commentator Tom Harwood claimed that some discussions are ongoing between the Conservatives and the Brexit Party on how to deliver Brexit. During an interview with Express.co.uk, Mr Harwood explained that both parties ultimately share a common goal of delivering on the result of the 2016 referendum. He added that Boris Johnson will likely maintain the Brexit Party’s support if he continues to be willing to take the UK out of the EU via a no-deal Brexit if necessary.

Mr Harwood said: “Well I am hearing in backchannels there is some discussion going on between the Tories and Brexit Party.

“Not at the most senior levels but there is certainly a lot of common cause with the Conservative Party as it stands under Boris today and the Brexit Party.

“Something that lets us go to a Canada-style future trade agreement.

“That is where there is absolutely commonality between the Tory party and Brexit Party.

“Through that Common cause I see a really quite positive potential future opening up in terms of an agreement that could be struck to deliver a thumping majority for the kind of Brexit that the 52 percent of this people want to see.”

Nigel Farage has since made an offer to Boris Johnson on the unity of both parties for the purposes of delivering Brexit.

Mr Farage emphasised this notion in a statement in the Telegraph as he said: “I am 100 percent sincere in this offer.

“We are not playing political games.

“I have spent more than 25 years fighting for Brexit, it is now without grasp, I can almost taste it.”
