Mr Johnson has pledged to leave the EU on October 31 no matter what, and is now readying himself for a quick trade deal with the US in the event of a no deal exit. “The British are fed up of the political manoeuvres of those who are incapable of respecting the Brexit vote and the will of the people,” Mr Philippot, leader of the far-right The Patriots movement, said on Twitter. The public’s backing of a speedy divorce from the Brussels bloc is “very sound,” he added.

Mr Philippot, a diehard nationalist, has repeatedly called for France to hold its own referendum on European Union membership.

Despite some businesses and Remainers warning a no deal Brexit would trigger widespread economic chaos, a ComRes poll published on Monday showed that 54 percent of British people think Mr Johnson “needs to deliver Brexit by any means, including suspending parliament if necessary, in order to prevent MPs from stopping it”.

The opinion poll for the Daily Telegraph found that just 46 percent of respondents disagreed with that statement.

Those who answered “don’t know” were excluded from the poll’s results.

Mr Johnson is seeking to strike a new deal with Brussels ahead of the October 31 divorce date, but has not ruled out suspending parliament to prevent MPs’ attempts to block a no deal exit.

He wants the Irish backstop – a controversial clause designed to prevent the return of a hard border between EU-member Ireland and the British province of Northern Ireland – to be scrapped from the current deal.

But the EU has refused to drop the backstop, insisting the current accord is not up for renegotiation and is the “best and only possible deal”.

Many diplomats now expect London to become increasingly reliant on the United States in the event of a hard Brexit, after Washington said on Monday it would help the UK cushion the blow of a no-deal.

BRITONS are grown tired of the “political manoeuvres” of anti-Brexit campaigners, French eurosceptic Florian Philippot said on Tuesday, after a poll showed Prime Minister Boris Johnson has the support of more than half of the public to deliver Brexit by any means, including suspending parliament.
