Mr Galloway urged the European Union to not “cut off your nose to spite your face” with their resolute refusal to reopen the Brexit withdrawal agreement. The former Labour MP said the UK remains committed to leaving on October 31 and is ready to face a potentially “rocky few years” to escape the “failing” EU. Speaking to RT America, Mr Galloway said: “We are leaving and it’ll be a rocky few months, maybe a few years but we are leaving.

“We have voted to leave, we want a future in the world not a future in the failing, fading European Union. They better get used to that fact.

“They took the view during the Theresa May interregnum that actually, we weren’t that serious about this, we weren’t going to go through with Brexit in any meaningful way.

“Well, we are, we definitely so get used to it and come to terms with it.”
