Brexit Party MEP Annunziata Rees-Mogg questioned whether the UK could trust Boris Johnson to deliver his Brexit promises despite his poor political track record. TalkRadio host Julia Hartley-Brewer confronted the MEP on whether the Brexit Party stealing votes from the Tories would prevent them from delivering Brexit and allowing another Government to come into power. She began her questioning by saying: “Should you really be encouraging people to vote for the Brexit Party?

“When that could actually stop a Conservative Leaver Government that could actually deliver Brexit.”

Ms Rees-Mogg began her rant by saying: “Excuse my scepticism on words beings delivered.

“We heard from Theresa May over 100 times we would leave on the 29th March and it didn’t happen.

“Can we trust Boris Johnson, his track record’s not great.

“And if he says a week after the election, of course, we will still leave how do we know that is true?

“How do we know he won’t ask for another extension, he’ll sign up to a watered-down version of Theresa May’s deal which is Brino, Brexit in Name Only.

“How can we trust him, we have got to make sure that Brexit is actually delivered and the proof is in the eating.”

The TalkRadio host interjected: “So for you, if there is an election before October 31 and we actually leave the EU.

“You’re saying the Brexit Party still serves a purpose.

“The 1st of November, if we have already left you will have to be campaigning presumably, it would be a bizarre situation the week running up to a no-deal Brexit that there would be in campaign mode.

“And yet it could be on the actual election day, if we have left, you might want to change your tune and say something different.

“What would be the advice to Brexit Party supporters if there was an election the day after.”
