Brexit agreement is ‘the best deal possible’, EU Commission says

The deal reached on Britain’s withdrawal from the European Union is the “best possible” and is not up for negotiation but the European Commission is ready to talk with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, a spokeswoman for the bloc’s executive said on Monday.

BRUSSELS (Reuters) – The European Commission is open to talks with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson to avoid a hard Brexit that would cause significant economic disruption, a spokeswoman for the EU executive said on Monday. However, she reiterated that the agreement reached already on Britain’s withdrawal from the EU is not up for negotiation. “But we are open to talk about the political declaration,” Mina Andreeva told a news briefing.
