Afternoon Brexit Update 08-05-19

Afternoon folks 🧐,

There are reports coming in this lunchtime that *Theresa May* is ‘close to setting out a timetable for her departure’.

The Sun’s Tom Newton Dunn has reported that *Sir Graham Brady* had a “a very productive conversation” with *Mrs May* in Number 10 yesterday and is now awaiting feedback (and a possible resignation commitment) from Mrs May which could even come before this evening’s 5pm 1922 Commitee meeting. ⏰

Elsewhere, *Liam Fox* has done little to help repair struggling cross-party Brexit talks. Talking at a trade conference in London, the International Trade Secretary rejected the idea of the UK being in a post-Brexit customs union with the EU – a key Labour demand during compromise talks. 🤨

And without a breakthrough in sight, *Brexit Party MEP John Longworth* has explained that a tsunami is now coming for the Tories:
