Morning Brexit Update… 23 April 19

Morning folks 👋,

Westminster is back in action this morning – with backbench Conservatives having taken the long weekend to decide that *Theresa May* must resign before June 12.🧐

That is the date some of her MPs have in mind, before potentially forcing the PM out of office.

For some, it could not come soon enough. Tory MP *Nigel Evans* told BBC Radio 4 this morning that “I would be delighted today if she announced she would go.”

At the same time, *Sir Graham Brady*, the 1922 Committee chair, will tell the PM that the party could change its rules to ensure a no confidence vote just six months after the previous one. ⏱

Meanwhile, new polling has put *Boris Johnson* 17 points ahead of his closest rivals in the race to future Conservative party leadership. Read more here:
