Evening all 🧐,
Our senior data journalist, Ashley Kirk, has crunched the numbers on *Europe Election* polling, which has put the *Brexit Party* on 27%.
Whilst the Lib Dems, Greens and Change UK – all backers of a second referendum – collectively have 25% of the public’s support, and Ukip and the Brexit Party have a collective 34%. 👀
Joe Twyman, Director at Deltapoll, says that protest votes are a possibility “in a proxy vote on the EU referendum which benefits parties with a clear and concise message on Brexit”. Read on here: http://bit.ly/2Xh6pZE
But should voters ignore Ukip? 🤷♂John Longworth writes that it is time to forget UKIP as only the Brexit Party can deliver with certainty a clear message to the political establishment. More on that here: http://bit.ly/2ID3R3U
And that’s your lot, folks. We’ll be taking a short break over the Easter 🐣 holidays but there will certainly be a lot of important questions to answer when we return.
The last time Mrs May returned from a walking holiday she called a snap General Election. And with no Brexit breakthrough on the horizon, there’s nothing to suggest that we won’t see another drastic decision from the PM. Although currently that looks to be in the form of a fourth meaningful vote 🗳.
Have a lovely Easter all! See you on Tuesday 👋.
