Morning Brexit Update… 15 April -19

Morning everyone 👋,

MPs are on holiday this week and for many of them it will be their first break in over fourteen weeks. *Theresa May* has been spotted in North Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 enjoying some time away from Westminster with her husband Philip.

Does that mean we can sit back, relax and forget about Brexit? If only.

*Jeremy Hunt* has urged Theresa May to try to ‘’rebuild’’ the Conservative Party’s coalition with the *DUP* and has warned against a ‘’highly damaging’’ lengthy Brexit delay. 🤨

Speaking in Japan 🇯🇵 while on an official visit, the *Foreign Secretary* did admit that talks with the *Labour Party* had been ‘’more constructive’’ than anticipated. However, he went on to concede that there was no guarantee that the talks will ultimately succeed.🤷‍♂

Elsewhere, the Telegraph have obtained a recording of an excerpt of a speech made by *Philip Hammond* in Washington. *The Chancellor* ridiculed *Boris Johnson, Micheal Gove* and *Andrea Leadsom* for engaging in ‘’suicide pacts’’ when they each failed in their bid to be Prime Minister. You can listen to the recording, here:

Meanwhile, *Boris Johnson* has explained in his Monday morning column that only a proper Brexit can now spare us from toxic polarisation 🧐:
